African Swine Fever Virus: Development of Vaccines and Epidemiological Investigations

This research project is an international cooperation aiming at the improvement of collaboration among involved project partners in Europe and Africa. The project is funded by the Wellcome Trust and runs from 2005 to 2010.

Main objectives:
  • to increase the understanding of the epidemiology of the disease in affected areas
  • to develop a vaccine by using different approaches
  • and last but not least, to enhance collaboration and communication among ASF experts
